Archeologists believe that music dates back to 7000 BC. The first musical instruments that people used then were probably percussive as well as wind ones. Now we have a huge variety of different instruments and styles of music- from popular to unconventional, aimed at a small group of people.
Music is all around us and it is difficult not to find your favorite style or styles. I myself like different kinds of music- a little bit of classical, pop, techno even. But the music I favor the most is rock and metal.
All time classic- Queen

On hearing those two styles quite a few people instantly imagine long hair, alcohol, spikes, leather and fights. That picture is not necessarily valid although sometimes it can be.
I actually tend to think that rock and metal are more relaxing than destructive. This is because I find that sort of music as a way of releasing your energy while listening to it and not by being aggressive.

Metalists may look dirty and scary but most of them are ordinary people. The only difference is that they have chosen to look in a different way than the others. And who does not want that.

I arrived in Dundee, Scotland on the 4th of September 2010. Before I came here I had never been abroad. That is why for me it was the biggest journey in my life so far.
I come from Bulgaria- a small country on the Balkan Peninsula with population of approximately 7 million people. It was there that I left a big part of my life.
Bulgaria
All those 19 years since I was born, I lived in my home town. During that time I managed to find many good friends with whom I enjoyed every second spent.  In the last years at high school we started to realize that soon everyone would take a separate way.
Some of my classmates would eventually end up in the same city but others like me turned out to be thousands of miles away.

I miss my friends very much but hopefully I know where they are and we keep in touch. We will meet around Christmas and catch up with each other.
My classmates
It is not only my friends that I want to see. I am also looking forward to being again with my family and relatives as well.

Today with all the technology it is easy to connect with people but it is not the same as being in the same room with the people you care about...

The Schroder House

Our third assignment as students in the course of Architecture at the University of Dundee was called Analysis of Precedent. We were divided into groups of two or three students and each group was given a famous house. What we had to do was analyze the specific building, provide different models, sketches and drawings.
The building we were given was the Schroder House. Built in 1924 in Utrecht, Netherlands for Mrs Schroder and her three children, the house was designed by the Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld. What is specific about the building is that it was radically different both inside and outside from the other structures of that period. Mrs Schroder wanted to have an open plan first floor but later decided that it should have separate premises as well. That is why Rietveld designed unique sliding partitions that divided the first floor into different rooms.

The house is maybe the only true building of De Stijl – an artistic movement found in the 1920s in Netherlands. Everything in it is reduced to its essentials. Only simple colors like red, yellow and blue are used as well as black, white and grey. Every element is subdued to the horizontal and vertical orientation.
